Get Involved!

The Permanent Parishioners at St. Mary's Catholic Center are a vital part of our community. Permanent Parishioners support St. Mary’s mission of "Forming Apostles for the Church and the World" by engaging in activities with the students and each other, looking to St. Joseph as their patron and model. Please see below for opportunities to get involved! If you have any questions, please contact a member of the Permanent Parishioner Commission (contact info at bottom of this page).

Permanent Parishioner Ushers

Called to Serve?

The St. Mary’s Permanent Parishioners are a unique group of parishioners especially because their main focus is to support the students and the campus ministry. If you are interested in helping serve our students see the ways you can volunteer below!

Adopt an Aggie

This is a ministry that connects permanent family parishioners and students from Texas A&M and Blinn. The Adopt-an-Aggie program is a way for a student to have a "family" away from home, a home-cooked meal, and a chance to experience some of the comforts of home. Learn more about this program here.

Marriage Preparation Ministry

St. Mary’s currently offers two ways you can help engaged couples preparing for the Sacrament of Marriage: meeting with a couple 1-on-1 in your home and going through a workbook together; or, serving as a mentor couple for our 6 week Water to Wine program where you serve as a small group leader with your spouse. If you are interested in helping, please email Kevin at You must be married to help.

If you are interested in helping others walk in their faith journey by being a small group leader for RCIA, please contact Kevin Pesek at RCIA classes are on Tuesday nights from 7:30 PM- 9:30 PM

Other Groups to Join

Men’s Bible Study

The Men’s Bible Study is open to all men and meets at noon on Mondays, except for holidays.  We examine the upcoming Sunday's Mass Readings to provide thematic sense to those readings.  That theme is applied to daily life and its challenges.  Participants are encouraged to consider some change to their lives—even minimal incremental change.  Although the studies often identify typical impediments to authentic Christian living, they are an encouragement that change is possible.

Contact Gene Wilhelm for more information:

Ladies Faith Formation/Bible Study

The Ladies Faith Formation/Bible Study meets on Thursday afternoons from mid-September through April in the Student Activity Center. Depending on interest there is also a study during the summer months. Formal studies from publishers such as Ascension Press are used. Each participant pays for their own workbooks. Workbooks are pre-ordered by the administrator or can be ordered individually from the publisher.  The ladies will be studying EPIC: A Journey Through Church History this year.

For more information or to sign-up, please contact Dana Hollmann,

Catholic Men’s Fellowship

The Catholic Men’s Fellowship is open to all men and meets from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. every Wednesday morning, except holidays.  Through study, prayer and fellowship, we strive to learn how to more fully live as Catholic men and become better disciples of Christ.  Coffee is available.  Participants are encouraged to consider commitments they can make to improve their own spiritual lives based on the topic of discussion.
