RCIA - Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

Do you want to be Catholic?

Want to learn more?

At St. Mary’s, we welcome all who are interested in joining us. For those that aren’t Catholic, we also highly recommend RCIA.

When and where do the RCIA sessions meet?
The RCIA sessions are held on Tuesday nights from 7:30 - 9:30 PM in the Activity Center at St. Mary's.  A new class will start on Tuesday, January 25th, 2022.  Email Kevin if you are interested in starting or fill out the form above!

How long does the RCIA process last?
For most people the process lasts for two semesters.

How do I register?
You can register the first week of RCIA.  We will meet in the Event Center at St. Mary's.  There is no cost to attend.  If you are planning to start in January, send Kevin an email and he will remind you when we get closer to starting.

Who should attend the classes?
RCIA is for adults who want to be baptized, baptized Christians of other faith traditions who are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith or becoming Catholic, and baptized Catholics who have not yet received their first Communion and/or Confirmation.

Can non-students join the program?
Yes. From time to time we do have adults who are not students in the class, however the class is primarily geared toward students. If you would prefer a different format, St. Thomas Aquinas does have adult sessions each semester as well. You can contact 979- 693-6994 for more information regarding their program.

What does RCIA stand for?
It stands for Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.

Are you high-pressure about becoming Catholic?
Not at all. We want to assist you in discerning God's will for your life at this time. There is no pressure at all. We will help you through prayer, answering questions, and talking with you. We are merely here to help in whatever way we can.
